Mr.Pete allows us to watch a movie called Transcendent Man. This movie is all about technology. The movie includes the life and idea of a scientist and a futurist name Ray Kurzweil.
Ray predict how the future technology would be like. He said technology grows very quickly through time. This can be prove by the graph. Ray said in the future, we will be trillions time more intelligent. Human aging and diseases will no longer disturb us. This is his belief. Three things that is important to him are genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics.
In the movie, there's one scene that Ray eats his medicine to fix his body. He have to take about 200 medicine a day. That makes people around him thought he was crazy. But if we think about it, it can be prove that what he said may happen. Technology changed so far every year.
Genetics deals with genes. Even doctors today are using machines to help people. It is needed, no doubt. His idea is that if we can control how genes work or change genes in the way we want, we might be more intelligent. It was the same situation as the example I gave. We all need technology to help us in living.
Nanotechnology might be the best idea for him, because it is small. His idea is that we can put it into our body then now it is it's job to control our inside body. The best idea I can imagine is that we can put the micro-chip (nano technology) into parts of our body like brains and stuff. Then we can control it by using robots.
